Conservation International - Future for Life Strategy
We are innovative problem-solvers. Our work is based on cutting-edge science, comprehensive partnerships, and concern for human well-being. Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) werd in 1977 in Vancouver BC door kapitein Paul Watson opgericht. De organisatie heeft als doel alle zeezoogdieren te beschermen en de illegale walvisvangst en de zeehondenslachting onmiddellijk te stoppen.
Dankzij de financiële steun van Cleveland Amory van "the Fund for Animals" kon de organisatie haar eerste schip, een Noord Atlantische zeetreiler de Westella genaamd, in Hull (Engeland) aanschaffen. Het schip werd omgedoopt tot 'Sea Shepherd'.

Everglades National Park is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. The area boasts rare and endangered species, such as the American crocodile, Florida panther, and West Indian manatee. It has been designated an International Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site, and a Wetland of International Importance, in recognition of its significance to all the people of the world.
