Expositie
De verboden vruchten van Ellen Vroegh
Opening zaterdag 28 juni
Vanaf 11.00 uur t/m 16.00 uur
Galerie Le Roux zal haar hele oeuvre ongecensureerd exposeren.
Iedereen is welkom!

American Exception Unlike Others, U.S. Defends Freedom to Offend in Speech By ADAM LIPTAK - Published: June 12, 2008 As more countries move to ban or restrict hate speech, some legal scholars say the U.S. should reconsider the broad scope of First Amendment protection. |

Ashoka is leading a profound transformation in society. In the past three decades, the global citizen sector, led by social entrepreneurs, has grown exponentially. Just as the business sector experienced a tremendous spurt in productivity over the last century, the citizen sector is experiencing a similar revolution, with the number and sophistication of citizen organizations increasing dramatically. Rather than leaving societal needs for the government or business sectors to address, social entrepreneurs are creating innovative solutions, delivering extraordinary results, and improving the lives of millions of people. |
Smart mobs emerge when communication and computing technologies amplify human talents for cooperation. The impacts of smart mob technology already appear to be both beneficial and destructive, used by some of its earliest adopters to support democracy and by others to coordinate terrorist attacks. The technologies that are beginning to make smart mobs possible are mobile communication devices and pervasive computing - inexpensive microprocessors embedded in everyday objects and environments. Already, governments have fallen, youth subcultures have blossomed from Asia to Scandinavia, new industries have been born and older industries have launched furious counterattacks. |

WorldChanging.com works from a simple premise: that the tools, models and ideas for building a better future lie all around us. That plenty of people are working on tools for change, but the fields in which they work remain unconnected. That the motive, means and opportunity for profound positive change are already present. That another world is not just possible, it's here. We only need to put the pieces together. |

FEATURE-Extreme fundraisers take charity to the limit BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 4 (Reuters) - Forget extreme sports. If you want people to really applaud while you take your favorite leisure pursuit to the limit, try extreme fund-raising. Just a decade ago, the riskiest thing people would do to raise money for charity might have involved pulling hot cookies from an oven. These days compassion fatigue has forced fund-raisers to drive themselves to increasingly outlandish deeds -- climbing the world's highest mountains, motorcycling at breakneck speed across continents, or jumping out of airplanes. For those seeking a guilt-free way to indulge pastimes and experience a hint of danger, the challenge has become an opportunity. |
Rookyoga groot succes. |
